Maja Ferme, a young Slovenian fashion designer, will try to conquer the demanding fashion capital in October

Velenje, Slovenia, 3rd October 2006 - When Maja Ferme, a young Slovenian fashion designer was well established in the Slovenian fashion industry, she gained new experience in spring this year in one of the leading fashion capitals of the world - New York. Valuable experience did not weaken her, but rather gave her new impetus. She reaffirmed her ambitious goals. She will succeed in presenting her Spring/Summer 2007 collection to the public at the independent fashion show in New York.

The collection of clothes and jewelry by the Slovenian Maja Ferme, which will be premiered in New York, is a real explosion of creativity that offers new forms and well defined style. The essence of collection is Maja's hand painted pattern, inspired by water nymphs. The style is feminine, and appears sensual and seductive. Creations are ethereal and mystical, made from natural light materials mostly silk chiffon and satin, which are in »water« colors combined with jewelry from the finest hand-made crystals. Maja's creativity and sensitivity, inspired by nature, offers perfect esthetic that brings sensuality, peace, and tranquility.

The fashion show, which will take place on 17 October 2006 in the very heart of Manhattan, will be an exceptional opportunity to display creative ideas that Maja has developed over the last years. It is also expected to put in the centre the approach to design, typical of her, which has so far attracted attention of the fashion fans in Slovenia.

»The clothes are my canvas, not hanging on the cold walls, but moving with the body in space and time,« said Maja Ferme at the time of the last preparations for the fashion show.

Every piece is manufactured carefully from the best natural materials, while enhancements, which took several days, are expressed in unique items that will be produced in limited numbers and will belong to the higher price class. This is in line with the business strategy and represents the first step towards further development of the »Maja Ferme Fashion« brand. The strategy incorporates also subsequent design of clothes, fashion accessories and designer products for other market segments.

Maja Ferme will on 17 October 2006 become the first Slovenian to hold an independent fashion show in one of the most demanding fashion capitals - New York.

About Maja Ferme
Maja Ferme went to a private school called Arthouse - College for Visual Arts in Ljubljana. She graduated from the Faculty of Natural Science, University of Ljubljana, where she studied textile and clothes design and production. She recently undertook master's studies at the said University. She was an apprentice at ANNA SUI in New York and at the fashion magazine department of the company GEN ART. She is the owner and main designer of Maja Ferme Fashion Company. She opened the first Fashion Gallery in Slovenia in June 1999 and organized first personal fashion show of unique clothes and Haute Couture jewelry. She won the competition for best evening gown wore by the Slovenian Miss Universe at the world competition in 2006. She has won fashion designer awards and is a stylist of many media personalities. Moreover, she organizes numerous fashion events in Slovenia and abroad… Her creations are characterized by unique hand painted pattern that she uses when creating clothes and jewelry.
